Douglas Road Elementary School’s mission statement:
To meet the challenges in a changing world, our goal at Douglas Road School is to provide students with opportunities to demonstrate and further develop their knowledge, skills, abilities and confidence within a safe, mutually respectful and positive setting.
Douglas Road School opened its doors in 1928. The school enrols students from Kindergarten to Grade seven. It is located in Central West Burnaby and is approximately five blocks from Burnaby Central Secondary School. This school received a seismic upgrade in 2009 resulting in a fresh, new appearance inside and out while maintaining the historical, brick exterior.
