Celebrate the Holidays in Greater Vancouver

As the holiday season approaches, we can feel the festive spirit coming alive in Metro Vancouver. It’s time to get ready to visit some great Christmas Craft Fairs and Winter Festivals around the Greater Vancouver area. There are lots of fun events to choose from this winter.

Vancouver Christmas Market at Jack Poole Plaza

November 21 – December 24, 2018

Enjoy a fun outdoor European-style Christmas market with friends in December. The Vancouver Christmas Market is great for holiday shopping and getting into the festive spirit. You can also shop for the best Christmas presents here!

Glow Christmas Lights & Market

November 22, 2018 – January 19, 2019

Glow is one of the Lower Mainland’s newest Christmas attractions at Langley’s Milner Village Garden Centre. Its large collection of Christmas lights and festive displays is very impressive. Glow features four light gardens, a 63-metre-long tunnel, food trucks, and over 40 market vendors.

Aurora Winter Festival

November 23 – December 30, 2018

Get ready for the new North Pole-inspired Christmas festival coming to Vancouver this year – Aurora Winter Festival. The Winter Festival will have a tubing slide, outdoor skating rink, market vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, visits from Santa Claus, and many other various family-friendly activities. Join the action at Concord Pacific Place, not far from Science World, at the eastern tip of False Creek.

Burnaby Village at Christmas in 2018

November 24, 2018 – January 4, 2019

A good time to visit the Burnaby Village Museum is between late November and early January. During the holiday season, Burnaby Village Museum becomes festive with Christmas lights and many seasonal displays. Admission is free, and there is entertainment throughout the day, which makes Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village one of Vancouver’s most interesting outdoor events.

You can join the launch event, Bright in Burnaby, for Heritage Christmas on Saturday, December 1st. There is a tree lighting ceremony and refreshments at 6 pm.

Festival of Lights at VanDusen Gardens

December 1, 2018 – January 6, 2019

A trip to Vancouver VanDusen Botanical Gardens is fun any time of the year, but during the Festival of Lights in December, it’s magical. This all-ages event includes amazing light displays spread over 15 acres of garden. The Festival of Lights features over 1 million lights and attracts over 110,000 visitors a year.

Coquitlam Christmas Craft Fair

November 30 – December 2, 2018

Join the 38th Annual Coquitlam Christmas Craft Fair this winter. Browse over 100 local vendors selling baked goods, speciality crafts, fine art, unique foods, and much more holiday gift ideas. You can check out the Christmas action at the Poirier Forum!
